Rangers draw as rain takes toll

Bathgate Thistle 2 Kilsyth Rangers 2
Pre-season friendly

Rangers’ final pre-season match took place at Bathgate last Saturday, and with the long warm, dry spell having finally broken much of the game was played in heavy rain which made conditions difficult for both sides.

It was a fairly even start with neither side really making a decent chance until a defensive slip-up let Murphy through to open Bathgate’s
account.

Rangers responed to this reverse with some good play and just on the half hour Prentice scored his first Rangers goal with a fine shot to the far corner of the net. Then with just about three minutes before the interval McBride spotted the Bathgate keeper well out of his goal and fired in a shot from all of 40 yards to put Rangers ahead once more.

A minute later Bathgate got an equaliser and the sides went in level, which was just about right on the run of play.
