Sygenta......................................0

Kilsyth Athletic.............................5

Central Scotland Football Association League

KILSYTH were determined to take all three points from this fixture after dropping valuable points last week and started the match strongly.

Five minutes in, some good work by Ross and Forsyth led to the ball being played in to Waters who drilled the ball home at the near post from an acute angle.

Kilsyth kept the pressure on Sygenta with the lion’s share of possession and 24 minutes in, from a corner, Forsyth’s delivery was met unchallenged by MacDonald to double the lead.

But for some good goalkeeping by Sygenta’s stopper, the score could well have been more at half-time.

The second half started in the same vein and two minutes in, keeper Whyte found Punter with a throw out and the Kilsyth captain drove on before playing a superb diagonal ball to Forsyth, who was charging down the left flank.

Forsyth took one touch and fired home to make it three nil. Whyte in the Kilsyth goal had to look sharp when Sygenta started to apply pressure in an attempt to get back into the game.

The ball fell inside the box to Sygenta’s striker whose snap shot looked goal bound until Whyte, at full stretch, tipped it around the post.

Kilsyth though re-asserted themselves and on the hour mark Ross went on a drive from the halfway line to the bye line on the right and delivered the ball into the box for Egan to head home.

Moments later, Egan had a strong drive down the right, played the ball inside to Ross at the halfway line who, in turn, released Paterson who was left one on one with the keeper and coolly slotted the ball home to make it five nil.

Kilsyth Athletic’s next match is the Victoria Clydesdale Cup Final at Falkirk Stadium on Saturday, May 14, kick-off 2pm.

League match

CAMPSIE Blackwatch young striker Steven Aitken got himself a hat trick on Saturday to put his total of 60 goals so far in a Blackwatch jersey.

The home team found themselves a goal down on the fifth minute.

A well worked move down the right from Campsie, Aitken received a pass from Reid who sent O’Halloran to cross a perfect ball for Prentice to head home from six yards.

On the 11th minute McLoone sent a long ball for Aitken to leave his marker and race into the box, firing a right foot shot high into the net.

Five minutes later it was O’Halloran who put Campsie three up.

McLoone sent Reid down the right. The winger played a one two with Millar and raced to the bye line and cut back a perfect pass for O’Halloran to side foot the ball into the net.

With half an hour gone Haddow whipped in an inswinger for Aitken at the back post to volley the ball home. With two minutes left of the first half Haddow made it five for the visitors. Aitken slipped the ball between two defenders for Prentice running into the box and picked out Haddow to send a left foot shot past the helpless keeper.

After the break Dumbarton didn’t give the Campsie’s defence any problem and it was all Campsie.

On the 56th minute a corner from Haddow was met by Finlayson who sent an unstoppable head into the top corner for a great goal.

With 15 minutes left on the clock Millar and Prentice crafted out a great move through the middle.

Prentice played Reid down the right who swung the ball into the box. Kerr smacked a right foot shot only to see the keeper save. The ball fell to Aitken for a tap in, grabbing his 60th goal for the season.
