Big entry for first medal

THE first medal competition of the season at Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club saw an encouraging 170 entering.

The weather was a bit kinder to the large field although a steady northerly breeze made it difficult for good scoring.

The best handicap score came from Mark Law with a net 66.

The scratch medal was a close call with Hugh Nelson carding a 72 to win by a shot from A. J. Brown and Simon Thomson who both carded 73.

Division one – Stephen Law 67, Kenny Brown 69, Gregg Black 69. Division two – Mark Law 66, Grant Macfarlane 68, Stephen Rankine 68. Division three – Kris Buchanan 67, Brian Cusick 68, Patrick Livingstone 68.

The course is in good condition, the locker room revamped with new carpets and noticeboards – bring on the new season!
