Brian lifts Civic Trophy

Brian Cant claimed his second trophy of the week (having been part of the winning team in last Saturday’s Texas Scramble) when he won the Civic Week Trophy on Wednesday, June 12 and he received the trophy from this year’s Civic Queen, Jennifer Clelland.

Jennifer and her entourage were welcomed to the club by this year’s Captain, Alex Burns.

An excellent scratch score of 72 ensured that William Erskine was the runaway winner of the Seniors event on Tuesday, June 11.

The final fixture of the Festival of Golf week on Saturday, June 15 was played in dreadful conditions when wind and rain persisted throughout the day during the well attended Gents Open Competition.

John McHenry from Loch View Golf Club, Coatbridge was this year’s winner with an impressive gross score of 68. The handicap prize went to Jamie Ramage of Airdrie Golf Club with a net 67.
