Club reaps benefits of weather

What an amazing journey for this year’s Winter League at Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club.

A period of 20 consecutive weekends with no weather enforced cancellations - it has to be one that may never be repeated.

The unique winter period also made it possible to play every weekend to the regular greens, which were a pleasure, to all participating throughout the passage of four months’ play. The last weekend’s competition saw minor changes to the overall league standings as the late predicted challenge from the top contenders failed to materialise over the last two days. It was the leaders who dominated and made sure of qualifying for this year’s final.

However, the best score from a splendid weekend of spring weather came from Alf Gorden with a season best 43 Stableford points,

Qualified for this year’s final on Saturday, March 15th are Matt Armour, George Boyd, Ian Currie, John Donaldson, George McCallum, John Love, Robert Stewart and Paul Tyrrell.

Congratulations to the eight players who made it through a tough campaign.
