A strong, cold easterly wind wasn’t the kindest of playing conditions. However, club captain Frank Brein and president Alex Burns were welcomed on to the first tee by a few early morning starters who watched both players share a warm handshake and soft drink before Frank opened proceedings with an impressive tee shot.

On a very busy opening day it was congratulations to the pairing of Stuart Mathieson and David Napier who won the first trophy of the season with an excellent score of 66.

A reminder to members - the entry sheets for all competitions are posted on the locker room noticeboards as the draws will be made on the weekend of April 12.
