A dusting of snow on Lennox

Kilsyth Lennox golf course was covered with an early dusting of snow on Saturday.

However, this soon cleared and after after a slight delay, the only hazard of the day was a few drizzly showers for the eager early morning starters in Round 16 of the Winter League.

Sunday was the better of the two days with some welcoming sunshine and it was no surprise that 60 cards were returned for the day’s play.

The top scorers of the weekend were Paul Tyrrell and Robin Kennedy both on 39 Stableford points. Paul’s round saw him leapfrog to the top of Group Two.

Ian Currie also hit some form with a useful 38 which tucks him in two points behind the leading two in Group Four.

League positions are: Group One, Eric O’Neil 233, George McCallum 228; Group Two, Paul Tyrrell 231, John Donaldson 231; Group Three, John Love 225, Robert Stewart 224; Group Four, George Boyd 228, Robert Blackwood 227.
