Fun at Kilsyth Lennox Ladies’ Day

THE first round of this year’s Wednesday Shield has an early front runner with David Law showing a clean pair of heels to the field with a personal best net 61.

This gives him a six-shot lead in the six week competition. There were good scores in the scratch section: David Napier 72, A. J. Brown 72, Stephen Walker 73.

Due to the poor weather on Saturday, June 23, Captain’s Day was cancelled and hopefully will be rescheduled for a Saturday in August.

However, conditions improved for Ladies’ Day on Sunday, allowing lady captain Fiona McGlashan and her guests, along with the ladies’ section, to have a fun and enjoyable day.

It was a good week in the team events with a hat-trick of victories. Thomson McCrone had a good win over Helensburgh. The junior section, under the auspices of Robert Blackwood, defeated top of the league Falkirk, and the A team completed the treble by defeating Grangemouth.
