Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club’s new bridge takes shape

IT was out of bounds with the wintry weather at Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club for week ending December 8.

This was the scene over the 18th green. Looks like it was set up for dancing on ice!

The only on-course activity was the progress with the new access (our very own Swikin type bridge - still to be named) approaching the 18th green. The structure is being erected by West of Scotland Drystone Walling Association.

The unique detail of such a bridge at KLGC will be somethng special. Their chairman, Norman Muir, along with local historian Alan Patrick from Blackmill, Allanfauld Road, have worked tirelessly with their team of dykers over the last three weeks hopefully to bring the bridge to its completion for Christmas. The pictures shows work in progess at the weekend.

The club held their annual general meeting on Thursday, December 6. It was decided that a major change to the Junior subscription was required and the annual fee of £120 will now drop to £25, signalling our committment to Junior Golf. Anyone wishing to take up this offer, perhaps as a Christmas present, please contact the club on 01236 824115.
