Last medal competition of the summer at Kilsyth Lennox

ONE of the best days of the season saw out the last medal competition of the summer at Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club.

In glorious sunshine it was save the best for last in the three divisions for the October medal. Roy McCann had a net score of 67 to comfortably win the first class medal; Robert Blackwood, likewise in the second class where his all-round game came together to shoot 67 and Kris Buchanan, with 68, claimed the third class slot.

The best scratch score had to be decided on a countback between David Boslem and Hugh Nelson, each scoring 71. With a better inward nine Hugh just pipped David for the last medal of the season.

First class – Roy McCann, 75 (8) 67; Jonathen Davis, 73 (4) 69; David Boslem, 71 (2) 69.

Second class – Robert Blackwood, 80 (13) 67; Bernard McKay, 85 (16) 69; Liam Cox, 82 (13) 69.

Third class – Kris Buchanan, 93 (25) 68; Robert Cooper, 88 (19) 69; Danial Comrie, 89 (20) 79.

The seasons aggregate of best five gross scores from seven rounds using actual handicaps, for the Scratch Trophy, was won by Alan J. Brown.
