Nelson takes Wednesday Shield 3

KILSYTH Lennox Golf Club’s Wednesday Shield 3 saw Hugh Nelson (now playing off scratch) having a fine gross 69 and a season best gross 72 for Matthew Currie. The winner of Shield 3 on handicap was Paul Nelson with a net 66.

Saturday, July 9, was Championship Qualifier (2) with a large field enjoying the good weather to post some good scoring.

First class section was won by John Cooper with a net 65. Best scratch was David Boslem with a gross 70.

First class scores: John Cooper 72 (7) 65, Robert Fleming 76 (8) 68 and David Boslem 70 (2) 68.

Second class: Grant McFarlane 78 (10) 68, David Wren 81 (13) 68 and Derek Murray 80 (12) 68.

Third class: Gary Connor 93 (28) 65, Stephen Morrison 85 (19) 66 and Alan Stewart 87 (20) 67.

Visitors are welcome on the course at weekends from 2pm on Saturdays.
