The light-hearted football fixture among members of the golf club was a huge success as a large number of local folk turned out to support the event.

The Tommy Burns Select v David Cooper Select served up good entertainment with Michael Waters Snr awarded Man of the Match after giving a superb display and Thomas Morrison scoring best goal of the night with a piledriver from 35 yards to complete the scoring at 7-1 in favour of the Tommy Burns select.

The evening was rounded off with a barbecue at the golf club.

The charity benefiting from the well organised evening will be Soldiers Off The Street, while the golf club will also benefit from the night with the purchase of an A B Defibrillator.

The club would like to give a massive thanks to Kilsyth Rangers for hosting the event.

Meanwhile the four-round May Eclectic competition had a thrilling finish when the top three places were separated by two points.

Eddie Donaldson won the trophy from Craig Struthers and Simon Thomson.

The last round of the competition was played last Wednesday. Billy Mathieson found top spot with his best of the season, a nett 66, with Taylor Wilson also having a good round, taking second place on 67.

On Saturday the course and weather were ideal, giving the 140 strong field the opportunity to perform well and qualify from the final Club Championship Qualifier.

66 was the best nett score from the three qualifying divisions with Peter Griffin leading the way in First Class with his 66. He also secured the best scratch with a flawless gross 70.
