DAVID Russell won the Thorneycroft Trophy at Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club with a two round score of 133.

He won comfortably by four shots from David Coyle who was second on 137.

It was a reasonable day for scoring. John P. Brady scored the first hole in one at the 10th in his handicap-breaking round of 69, while Thomas Fitzsimmons kept up his early season form by claiming the best scratch score with 72.
