Hugh is tops in August Medal

PLAYING conditions could not have been better for Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club’s August Medal, which was played early this year.

The in-form Hugh Nelson recorded the best scratch score of the season with 66 and also won the handicap category.

In second place was Danny Rooney with a fine 72, followed by Kenneth Brown with a 76.

Wednesday Shield (6) was won by Colin McKay with the best net score of the competition 81 (22) 59.

The Thomson McCrone team won through to the semi-finals of the league playoffs on Sunday with a fine away victory over Vale of Leven.
