Kilsyth squeak through as injuries mount

MARTIN Mooney admits Kilsyth were just relieved to progress in the Central League Cup after the drama of their shoot-out win over Vale of Clyde on Saturday.

The Fullarton Park side are currently rooted to the bottom of the Central District First Division while Rangers are sitting pretty at the top of the Super League First Division.

But, as is often the case in cup tournaments, the favourites did not have it all their own way and play ended with the teams deadlocked at 2-2.

Mooney said: “We were relieved more than anything I’d say, just glad we got through the tie.”
