Lenzie Youth hoping new kit Spurs them on to success

THE players of Lenzie Youth Club U16 are set to take the field in a new sky blue kit, thanks to new sponsor Investec.

The appearance of the investment company’s logo on a football shirt may seem oddly familiar to many, no doubt because the firm’s name also appears on the shirts of north London side Tottenham Hotspur when they play in European and domestic cup competitions.

Stars such as Rafael Van Der Vaart and Gareth Bale can now sleep easy knowing they are in good company with the Dunbartonshire Football Development League team.

Iain MacDonald, Investec director, based at the firm’s Glasgow office, is pictured here with the squad sporting their new strip.

Manager Billy Inglis said: “Iain has been a keen supporter of Lenzie Youth Club for years now and his son Iain Jnr was our 1988 squad captain, who himself won several trophies with the club.

“We are lucky to have this kind of backing and support from guys like Iain and companies like Investec.

“The boys love their new Joma kit and hope to do our sponsor proud this season as they challenge on all fronts and are so far undefeated after nine games.”
