Martin races to final

WEEK two of the ten week league took place at the Red Triangle Snooker club in Cumbernauld.

Martin Cook, fresh from his semi-final defeat against former European over 40 champion Mick McGuire raced to the final with victories over Andy Jackson 2-0, Dougie Fraser 2-0, and man of the moment Ross Higgins 2-1. Ross, who won the Scottish U19s championships earlier in the day was no match for a determined Cook.

The top half of the draw saw the return of Willie Scott, a talented player in his hey day. Willie was quickly disposed of by Carbrain Cueman Davie Hutchison 2-0. Mark Caulfield seems to be hitting a bit of form. Mark had victories over Martin Shields, Gordon McKinstry and will play John Dempster who had a tough encounter with Davie Hutchison.

John, with the backing of his fan club in the bar, came out on top against an out-of-sorts Hutchison.
