Men’s 10k is back - bigger and better

Enthusiastic fun runners from Cumbernauld are starting to draw up plans to take part in The Men’s Health Forum 10k for Men which this year will be the centre-piece of a special festival of events, packed full of activities and entertainment for all the family.

It will take place on Father’s Day weekend June 14-15 at Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park, and promises to be a thrilling warm-up for the 2014 Commonwealth Games to be held in the city a month later.

Sarah McMillan, 10k for Men Event Manager, said: “This year it will be bigger and better than ever, with a host of extra special events for all the family.

“The Sunday programme will be the same as last year with the Rascal Run in association with Yorkhill Children’s Charity (1k) and the Men’s 10k.

“This year we have added a new kids’ 3k (the Family 3k) and a new Men’s 5k on Saturday afternoon - we wanted to add some extra options for guys who aren’t feeling up to a 10k yet, whether they’re on their way up to a 10k or on their way back from injury.

“This year - 2014 - has been billed as Scotland’s summer of sport - why not kick-off in style?”

More than 500 men have already signed up at www.mens10k.com.
