EURO-MP IN TOWN: Euro-MP Ken Collins paid a return visit to Kilsyth on a fact-finding mission to the offices of Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Enterprise Trust in Market Street. As chairman of the European Parliament’s environment committee, Mr Collins was interested to learn about the Greenways project and the associated environment related activities being promoted by the Trust in the Kilsyth area.

BUSES BANNED: Kilsyth Town Council heard that Shuttle Street was not suitable for bus traffic and would not be used by buses, either service or contract, and that buses would go round by Manse Road and Low Craigends to serve the school.

WELCOME: Bailie Malcolm Stark, the new magistrate for Kilsyth, was introduced at the Police Court by Provost Freebairn, w ho pointed out that he came of a long line of magistrates and he had no doubt he would uphold the honour and tradition of the family.
