Pamela McNicol wins Scottish heptahlon title
DESPITE being down in fourth place with just one event to go, Carluke heptathlon marvel Pamela McNicol produced a fantastic run to win the 800m and land the Scottish National U16 Girls Combined Championships title.
The exploits at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena by Law and District AAC member Pamela (14), of Glenshee Court, were witnessed by her proud mum Lesley who said it had been “very stressful” watching the title-winning performance.
Lesley added: “My face was totally flushed as I watched Pamela compete.

Hide Ad“Other friends and family members were screaming and shouting their support for Pamela during the 800m while I was down at trackside. I was telling her that, although she was doing fine, she would have to go a bit faster.”
