Pre-season training kicks off

IT’S all coming together quite nicely.

The SRU have approved a new league structure that sees Cumbernauld Rugby Club playing in a regional league instead of national.

The fixtures have been published, with a league start date of September 3 against Strathendrick, and it also brings the return of the local derby, the first of which is against Lenzie on October 15, the same day the 2nd XV play Allan Glens.

The Rugby Club are again running three seniors teams this year, with the 1st XV and 2nd XV playing competitive league rugby, whilst the 3rd XV is more of a social experience for the more mature player, or those with less experience.

The teams for school children continue, with mini training starting back on July 24, and for youth age groups training continues through-out the summer on Sundays at 2 pm.

The club will be running two additional teams at youth ages this year, with under 14 and under 18 teams being established.

So come on guys, whatever your age, whatever your experience why don’t you give rugby a try?

Senior training takes place at the playing fields at Auchenkilns in Condorrat on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm, and Saturdays from 1pm.
