Rangers to to the top

KILSYTH Rangers may be newly promoted to the Super League First Division, but by 4pm on Saturday afternoon they were sitting pretty at the top of the table.

The Duncansfield outfit continued their rich vein of goalscoring form by knocking four past Girvan at Hamilton Park.

Assistant boss Martin Mooney said: “Our good form keeps going and we’re delighted. Girvan’s a difficult place to go, it’s quite close to the water so the conditions can be bad. Fortunately it was a settled day.”

It was a different story for Cumbernauld United however, after their seventh defeat of the season left them languishing second from bottom.

The visit of third placed Ardrossan Winton Rovers to Guy’s Meadow was never going to be easy, but United boss Queen was disappointed to see his side go down 5-1 in front of their own fans.
