United set for trip north

LAST week's 6-0 win at Annbank sets United up for hopefully another away victory against North Super League side Stoneywood.

The Polo Park club is currently second bottom of their league having won only one of their five league matches so far and losing four.

Naturally they will be given respect by John Queen's side in Saturday's first round of The Emirates Scottish Junior Cup.

The Northerners lost 2-0 away to Ellon in last Saturday's league encounter having previously won 8-0 and 10-1 in their last two local cup encounters so they can score goals.

United will hopefully be at full strength for Saturday's game and should cut through to the second round of the competition.

Let's hope the players have a relaxing journey to Polo Park and, after the 150 mile journey, have a good warm-up prior to the match. Good luck lads and hopefully the team and supporters come back home in a happy mood.
