Walking the walk for Clyde and Glencryan

ANOTHER component part of the "Clyde in the Community" initiative came to a successful conclusion at Clyde's recent home game against East Stirling.

Five Clyde supporters walked the 12 miles from Clyde's previous home ground at Shawfield Stadium to their new home at Broadwood, and raised a grand total of 1200, which was divided evenly between the club and Glencryan School.

Cara (who would have walked the walk if her dad had let her!), Stuart Robertson, and Gordon Sydney. Missing from the photo is Gordon Nisbet, who deserves significant plaudits for walking through the pain barrier to complete the walk.

Angela was understandably delighted with the donation, and firstly thanked those who walked and those who sponsored them. Her intention is to put the money towards the upkeep of the two school mini-buses, as getting the pupils "out and about" is such an integral part of the school's curriculum.

Gordon Sydney, one of the organisers, advises us that he already has the Fourth Annual Clyde FC Sponsored Walk in his sights, and that if anyone wishes to join him they can contact him via the Clyde FC office at Broadwood on 01236 451511.
