Watching the opposition

KILSYTH Rangers had a spy in the stands to watch Scottish Junior Cup opponents Darvel Juniors draw a blank against Kello Rovers at the weekend.

The Duncansfield side make the trip to Recreation Park this Saturday for the third-round tie, fresh from a free weekend.

Assistant boss Danny Smith said: "We weren't able to arrange a friendly so we just trained on Saturday to keep everybody ticking over. One of the coaches went down to watch Darvel so we'll know a bit about what to expect.

"Obviously we beat them two-nil during pre-season, but some things have changes with us since them and it'll be the same for them."

In an unusual twist, Saturday's clash will be the first time Kilsyth and Darvel have ever met in a competitive fixture.

The travel club has spaces available for anyone wishing to go to the game. The bus leaves the Coachman Hotel at 11.45 am.
